WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASH

Stay Calm. Check on others in your car especially children, the elderly, or the disabled. Take a look at your surroundings. Is there smoke or fire? Is there dangerous traffic? make sure it is safe to exit your vehicle.

Call 911. Be prepared to give your location, the number of vehicles involved, and any other pertinent information. This one call will alert police, EMS, and the fire department if needed.

Exchange relevant info with the other drivers to include names, contact info, insurance info, and vehicle identification number (VIN). Jot down or photograph details of the accident and license plate numbers.

Seek immediate medical care at an emergency room or urgent care facility for any significant or obvious injuries including but not limited to lacerations, orthopedic issues, loss of consciousness, visual or mental changes, severe pain, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or other issues of concern.
